چکیده

In this paper, we will demonstrate three-dimensional tomographic reconstruction of space-borne highresolution SAR data using Shanghai as our test site. The high density of high-rise buildings in Shanghai leads to a rather complicated backscattering regime, which is difficult to handle with conventional interferometric processing. For the tomographic signal reconstruction, we use three different reconstruction methods: Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), Truncated SVD, and Wiener-SVD. We tested all three methods on simulated and real SAR data. In our experiments, we can demonstrate that SVD works only in a few cases. TruncatedSVD and Wiener-SVD deliver better results.

Three-dimensional space-borne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging with multiple pass processing

Three-dimensional (3D) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging via multiple-pass processing is an extension of interferometric SAR imaging. It exploits more than two flight passes to achieve a desired resolution in elevation. In this paper, a novel approach is developed to reconstruct a 3D space-borne SAR image with multiple-pass processing. It involves image registration, phase correction and e...

Very High Resolution Sar Tomography via Compressive Sensing

By using multi-pass SAR acquisitions, SAR tomography (TomoSAR) extends the synthetic aperture principle into the elevation direction for 3-D imaging. Since the orbits of modern space-borne SAR systems, like TerraSAR-X, are tightly controlled, the elevation resolution (depending on the elevation aperture size) is at least an order of magnitude lower than in range and azimuth. Hence, superresolut...

Investigagtions on Space-borne Sar Tomography for Structural Analysis of Forested Areas

Remote sensing systems are of great interest to gain geospatial information in forest environment. In particular, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) which is an active and coherent imaging technique is commonly used from aerial and satellite platforms. Microwave pulses are emitted by a transmitter and their echos reflected from objects on ground are coherently recorded and processed in such a way, ...

Deformation Trend Extraction Based on Multi-Temporal InSAR in Shanghai

Shanghai is a modern metropolis characterized by high urban density and anthropogenic ground motions. Although traditional deformation monitoring methods, such as GPS and spirit leveling, are reliable to millimeter accuracy, the sparse point subsidence information makes understanding large areas difficult. Multiple temporal space-borne synthetic aperture radar interferometry is a powerful high-...

Radar Polarimetry Radar Interferometry and Polarimetric SAR Interferometry represent the current culmination in ‘Microwave Remote Sensing’ technology, but we still need to progress very considerably in order to reach the limits of physical realizability. Whereas with radar polarimetry the textural fine-structure, target orientation, symmetries and material constituents can be recovered with con...
